THE CABIN

Blaine Hensyel:  Came to Oregon to remove temptation and overstimulation.

A successful thriller novelist, he now has a stalled career, a damaged reputation, and a deadline closing in on him. Still Creek Cabin offers everything he thinks he needs: isolation, silence, limited cell service, and enough distance from Miami to pretend he can leave the worst parts of himself behind.

Then the writing returns.

At first, the cabin appears to be saving him. The pages come quickly, darker and more intimate than anything he has written before. His new story is filled with violence, buried secrets, sexual obsession, and places he does not remember seeing. The deeper he gets into the manuscript, the harder it becomes to tell whether he is creating the story or recording something that has already happened.

Outside the cabin, the people surrounding Blaine seem to know more than they admit.

The cabin’s owner is beautiful, controlled, and impossible to read. A local woman is keeping him at arm's length, while warning Blaine that he does not understand the place he has rented. Old deaths still cling to the property, and every answer leads to another person with something to hide.

Desire only makes the danger worse.

The Cabin explores the thin line between attraction and manipulation, fantasy and consequence, loyalty and possession. Its characters flirt with moral boundaries before stepping over them completely. They lie to protect themselves, judge one another’s appetites, and reach for the moral high ground while carrying secrets that could drag them straight back down.

Erotic tension runs through the story as temptation, leverage, escape, and sometimes outright debauchery. Sex is never separate from the mystery. It complicates trust, shifts power, exposes weakness, and gives dangerous people access to one another. Every encounter raises another question: Who is in control? Who is pretending? Who is using desire to distract from the truth?

Blaine came to the mountain hoping to finish a novel.

Instead, he finds himself trapped inside a story filled with seduction, betrayal, family pressure, old violence, and a manuscript that may know what happens next.

Someone has been waiting for him to write the truth.

The problem is that the truth may destroy everyone who came to the cabin looking for something they were never supposed to find.
